Boston Indoor Bowls Club.
May 2021 Update.
Thank you to all our members that have supported our Summer League programme and the volunteers to run the leagues.
The club will be ready to welcome you along with our staff. All procedures will be in place to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
Our new air conditioning system and fresh air ventilation will enhance your experience and welfare.
We are moving ever closer to normality and hope after the outdoor season more of our members will return to the club.
The night league programme for the winter season has been organised. There will be 2 divisions with 12 teams in each division. Division 1 will be on Monday’s and run two full sessions at 6-30pm and 8-30pm. Division 2 will be the same on a Tuesday evening.
This will leave Wednesday evening free and we will look to organise something new. One idea is to organise a league for teams of 3 people to play and only have a 4/5 player squad. It will be 3 bowl triples. We will limit it to 12 teams and run the session from 7-00pm to 9-00 pm.
Please let us know if you are interested or if you have any other ideas.
Thursday evenings will be for competitions and some new formats e.g. Aussie Pairs etc. Fridays will be competitions, Saturday evenings will be competitions and evening league of fours as previous years. Sunday evenings will be for competitions and social play.
We will be monitoring demand on the evenings and maybe having flexible hours to keep the costs down where we can.
On Wednesday 23rd June at 7-30p.m we will hold our AGM at the club. We would like as many of our members to attend as possible.
Due to Covid we did not have an AGM in April 2020 and then in 2021 and we have important issues to discuss and decide on.
5 Year Plan for the club.
Club operational restructuring. – No separate Sports Committee.
Explaining the 5 year plan, the venue strategy, and the restructuring will be published on the website or you can request a copy.
Let us know your views , please come to the AGM. We need our members fully behind us as we look to restart the club from the difficult year we have all experienced.
We also require new directors to help achieve the plans to sustain the future of the club. Please put your name forward. We have 3-4 vacancies due to current directors standing down having completed their terms.
We also require volunteers to continue in supporting the club as they have done in the past with club operations, supporting the Directors and staff.
The fixtures for the coming season have been arranged and whilst the leagues have been restructured for a season to help clubs and players to find their way back slowly but surely to the normality we once knew. It will be essential that members support the club as much as possible.
This will not only help our club recover but also assist other clubs in the county.
Together we can get back to normal for our club , other clubs and most importantly the sport we all enjoy.
