NEW LOCAL COVID ALERT LEVELS

NEW LOCAL COVID ALERT LEVELS - WHAT IT MEANS TO INDOOR BOWLS CLUBS

With the Government introducing a 3 tier system from 14th October 2020 to control COVID-19 the following will apply to Indoor Bowls: -

Tier One - MEDIUM RISK

For Clubs in an area of medium risk there are no further actions required from the EIBA’s last Guidance of 26th September 2020.

Organised sport can continue to take place indoors for up to 6 people per rink.

If you have members or visitors who live in a high risk area, they are able to play but only with people from their same household / support bubble.

Club bars and restaurants are permitted to be open, but with table service only, between the hours of 5am to 10pm. Bowls can be played beyond 10pm.

Tier Two - HIGH RISK

For Clubs in an area of high risk there are changes required.

Only people from the same household / support bubble will be permitted to take part in organised indoor sport, as long as there is no interaction with other households in the club.

Club bars and restaurants can remain open between the hours of 5am to 10pm but are only allowed to have people from the same household / support bubble on a table.

Tier Three - VERY HIGH RISK

For Clubs in an area of very high risk there are changes required.

Only people from the same household / support bubble will be permitted to take part in organised indoor sport, as long as there is no interaction with other households in the club.

However, individual local authorities in conjunction with the Government could agree additional interventions which may include not allowing any indoor sport to take place.

Club bars and restaurants will not be allowed to open.

To see which level of risk applies to your Club / home please use the Government’s post code tracker https://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrictions or https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus and then go to the “Guidance and support”/Local COVID Alert Levels” section.
